The goal of STARBASE Hill...simple, increase the student's enthusiasm and interest toward STEM.   STARBASE Hill serves the surrounding school districts to Hill Air Force Base.  STARBASE Hill targets students historically under-represented in STEM.  This can include students socio-economically disadvantaged, low in academic performance or possessing mental/physical challenges. However, we want all students, regardless of circumstances, to plan their future goals with a "bird's eye" view to the endless possibilities STEM provides.

The program engages students through discovery-based curriculum incorporating "hands-on, mind-on" activities.  They explore a wide spectrum of science concepts from energy and fluid mechanics to nanotechnology and Newton's Laws of Motion. Additionally, students become captivated by engineering through computer-aided design creating space stations, lab modules and shuttles.  We embed math throughout the curriculum where students use metric measurement, estimation, coordinate geometry and data analysis to solve questions.  Finally, STARBASE Hill stresses teamwork as students work together to explore, explain, elaborate and evaluate concepts.
